This Blog has been set up so I can share with you all, the process that will lead up to the toughest thing I will probably ever endure. I am talking about a 2012 Ironman event. I will keep training updates on this page as well as related problems that I encounter along the way. I hope you can join me along the way on this page, and even in training if you like.

Weeks 39-40 Easter Holidays training log
School holidays always bring a slow down in training so I have compiled both weeks into one training log.
Usually I'd write out my training programme in advance so that I know what to aim for throughout the week, but during the Easter holidays I simply grabbed what I could, when I could. To be honest it worked out quite well, certainly as far as my running goes. Running is something you can do on the spur of the moment and it doesn't have to take up much time. As an added bonus Paddy (our dog) gets a good run out as well. His open water swimming is coming along nicely as well, especially when there's a tasty duck on the water. Thankfully he hasn't caught one yet. I think they see him coming and play games with him,
I had been two weeks off the bike before getting back on on Friday and it showed. Three and half hours and I was just about cooked. I have now covered the entire Ironman bike course so they had better not change anything. There is only one part that scares me and that is a particularly steep and nasty hill that on the day I'll reach at around 70 miles and then again at about 109 miles. It's hard enough the first let alone after 109 miles. Don't they know we have to run a bl~#*y marathon to run after.
